Innocently disguised as a foray into the Battlepits of Krarth to participate in a competition, the true significance of your encounter will be revealed later in the series.

Typical melodramatic blurb, but this does not detract from the charm of the book. The traipse into the Battlepits is faintly reminiscent of many other dungeons, but evocative writing, as is always evident throughout the series, brings it to life.

Although the storyline is generally linear, there are two main sub-branches, depending on which patron you choose. Even so, there are enough variations to keep you on your feet through a few readings.
